The Cosmonaut Training Centre named after Yuri Gagarin is a unique place. Until recently, it was one of the most secret establishments on Earth.
The GCTC is where the first manned flights beyond the atmosphere of the Earth originated, a cradle of the Space Age. It is here where the first cosmonaut, Yuri Gagarin, was preparing for his historic flight. It is where Aleksey Leonov, the first cosmonaut to walk in space, was trained.
Preparations for planned lunar flights, for the voyages to the Salyut and Mir orbital stations, training for the flights on Vostok, Voskhod, Soyuz, and Buran spacecraft were all carried out at the Center, which is also the place where currently preparations for International Space Station missions take place.
This is the place where we train those few whose eyes are fixed on stars, those who are lucky to stand in the ranks of pioneers.
We are happy to arrange a personal tour to the GCTC that will allow you to learn more about the unique history of this institution, see preparations for upcoming space missions, and feel like a space pioneer yourself.
